INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Ever considered becoming an instructor at Kenesky’s Goaltending School? 

Every instructor at Kenesky’s Goaltending School is certified to work with goalies at various levels and ages. Kenesky’s provides in-house training program to teach coaches how to train at every level. 

Instructor Certification program 

  • Volunteer certification (must be born in / before 2003; no prerequisite required)
    • Part A – In class training:    Saturday, June 24 – 10am-12pm 
    • Part B – On-ice training:    Tues July 4 – Friday July 7 

 

  • Level 1 Certification (Prerequisite: Volunteer certification)
    • Part A – In class training:    Saturday, June 24 – 12pm-2pm 
    • Part B – On-ice training:    Tues July 4 – Friday July 7

 

  • Level 2 Certification (Prerequisite: Level 1 certification)
    • Part A – In class training:    Saturday, June 24 – 2pm-4pm
    • Part B – On-ice training:    Tues July 4 – Friday July 7

Certification Levels: 

 

Volunteer Certification – Must be born in or before 2003

With a volunteer certification, you will be qualified to volunteer at Kenesky’s camps. 

Classroom and On-Ice Sessions:

  • Applicants will become familiar with Kenesky’s Instruction System and review the tenets of responsible leadership. 
  • On ice sessions bridge theory to practice, and applicants will apply classroom training knowledge to various instruction scenarios with real goalies. 

 

Level 1 Certification – Prerequisite course: volunteer certification

With a Level 1 Certification, you will be qualified to become an assistant instructor at Fundamental Camps and an assistant instructor in private sessions. These are paid positions within the Kenesky’s coaching team.

Classroom and On-Ice Sessions:

  • Applicants will learn Kenesky’s Instruction System and the fundamentals of goaltending according to this system. They will also review the tenets of effective communication. 
  • On ice sessions will give applicants an opportunity to apply classroom training knowledge to various instruction scenarios with real goalies. During on-ice sessions, applicants will be assessed on their ability to communicate and relay goaltending fundamentals to a beginner goaltender. 

Level 2 Certification – Prerequisite course: Level 1 certification + 100 hrs of instruction (camps or private sessions)

With a Level 2 Certification, you will be qualified to become a main instructor at camps and in private sessions. These are paid positions within the Kenesky’s coaching team.  

Classroom and On-Ice Sessions:

  • Applicants will be required to break down specific movements in detail as well as create and demonstrate drills in keeping with Keneksy’s Instruction System. They will be assessed on their ability to do the above as well as write lesson plans catering to beginner / intermediate goaltenders.
